MILFORD Haven celebrated promotion to division three for next season with a big win over Furnace.
They led Furnace 17-3 at half time and finished up with another eight tries in the bag as reward for Alan McClelland’s belief in running rugby which has seen high scores for most of the season.
Winger Craig ‘Yoda’ Thomas continued his outstanding form with two first half tries, one either side of another try for centre Ian Rusinek.
Grant Rogers added a conversion as Leighton Jenkins responded with a penalty for Furnace.
Lee Riley has also been in top form and opened the second-half scoring with a try converted by Rogers, as were other scores from Tom Arnold and Gareth Fawcett (2).
Rogers also got his name on the try sheet with the final Mariners score and, although he was off-target with the conversion attempt, his side were worthy winners.
Milford finish just three points adrift of Llanelli Wanderers and only two points behind Amman United in the final section table.
