ST DAVIDS made it two wins on the trot as they outlasted Pontyates and gained revenge for a heavy 37-8 they suffered earlier in the season.
Yet it was the visitors who took the early lead with a penalty by their best player, outside half Kieran Evans.
But the Saints bounced back with a drop goal by their No 10 Geraint Morris as young hooker Dafydd Williams caught the eye with his hard work around the pitch.
Evans missed two other penalties for Pontyates before St Davids claimed the first try of the match when a rousing counter-attack saw the ball go through lots of hands. Full back Andrew Lamb made the final thrust and supplied the scoring pass for prop Ben Evans, who did well to get up alongside him and cross at the posts before Jack Jones converted to put the Saints 10-3 ahead at half time.
Fraser Watson made his usual contribution to the Saints’ cause when the strong-running centre intercepted near half way and sped to the line for scrum half Jack Jones to add the extra points.
Jones soon followed that with a penalty from 45 metres to make the game safe.
Pontyates managed a late try by Kieran Evans but it was too little, too late as the Saints were good value for victory and understandably delighted by the result.
l In division five west, Llangwm were beaten 42-8 in Swansea Uplands. Winger Dan Morgan scored their try, while Andrew Brock kicked a penalty.
