Division three west - TENBY United’s defeat at Pontyberem summed up the Seasiders’ season.
They are capable of beating the best teams in the section and losing to the weakest on their off-days – and unfortunately this was the latter.
Pontyberem are in the bottom two of the table but were already 26-5 to the good at half time.
They scored tries by No 8 Richard Rees, second row Mike Thomas, centre Ricky Evans and flanker Shaun Davies, three of them converted by outside half Nicky Davies.
All the Seasiders could muster in reply was an unconverted try by Toby Smith.
But the visitors rallied after an interval pep-talk to add tries from centre Dan Colley, No 8 Sam Smith and another from his brother Toby, who also added a conversion and a penalty.
But they allowed Pontyberem to add a second try for No 8 Richard Rees, plus the conversion and a penalty by Davies as the home side sealed the win.
The Seasiders at least went away with two losing bonus points as a consolation.
