Division one west - NARBERTH completed the double over UWIC but were pushed all the way by the students.

A late penalty from Stuart Morris and an even later try by replacement winger Nick Jones saw them edge through.

UWIC took the lead after 13 minutes with a long-range penalty from outside half Mark Cooke but The Otters carried a 7-3 lead into the interval. Skipper Steve Martin pouched a loose ball, made the initial space and then gave Matthew Davies a cleverly weighted pass for the winger to scoot through before Morris added the extra points.

The Otters increased their lead with a deserved try by Tom Slater, the young prop rounding off a forward drive after Morris kicked them into the corner and the outside half converted to make it 14-3 to the homesters. But with 15 minutes left UWIC fought back with a try by second row John Campbell which Cooke converted – and they took the lead by a single point with another try, this time by Andy Berry from a tapped penalty, with Cook converting.

Morris, one of the heroes the previous week, was again on hand with a vital penalty on target after 81 minutes and there was still time for Nick Jones to score in the right corner – though it mattered little because the Otters were home and dry, and still on top of the table.
