Herbrandston (82 for 8) beat Llangwm (79 all out) Umpires: Steve Blowes and Tony Waldeis.

Herbrandston moved into fourth spot in the section table as they edged home by two wickets in a low-scoring thriller against Llangwm.

Herbie shot out Llangwm for 79 and then took 36 overs to reach 82 with just two wickets in hand and a few finger-nails chewed down.

Llangwm lost openers JoJo Francis and Jonathan Twigg early on.

Brothers Chris and Steve Inward reached double figures before they became second scalps respectively for Paul Hood and Steve Bennett.

Bennett's medium pacers caused havoc as he returned final figures of 5 for 14 in 11 overs. Each delivery appeared like a time-bomb to the suspicious Llangwm batting line-up.

Hood grabbed 3 for 33 and Kristan Bennett supported well with 2 for 24.

Only Johnny Palmer, batting at No 8, scored runs as he finished with 16 not out as Llangwm were dismissed for 79 in only 32.4 overs.

But Herbie fared little better in their response as Andrew McClelland and Jonty Bennett fell early before Gary Davies and Kristan Bennett steadied things down with 14 and 23 respectively.

Peter John also added 13 but Darren Brick and Chris Inward bowled tight spells and wickets fell regularly.

Inward (3 for 25) and Brick (4 for 26) were the mainstays of the Llangwm attack but Herbie gradually crawled towards victory and teenager Lee Broome struck the winning boundary to nudge his side over the line with two wickets to spare.
