The army recently invaded the grounds at Sir Thomas Picton School when the 14th Signal Regiment (Electronics Warfare) from Cawdor Barracks held its sports day on the athletics track.
There was strong competition between the squadrons but athletes were also battling it out for places in the Regimental team which will take part in the Royal Signals Athletics event at Blandford on May 24th and 25th.
Over 200 competitors took part in field and track events and the tug-of-war at Sir Thomas Picton School with almost the same number of spectators.
It was the first time the sports day had been held at Sir Thomas Picton School and it proved a success.
A 30-strong athletics team and a 10-strong tug-of-war team will now go forward to Blandford.
