Tenby 3
Narberth 2
Tenby overcame Narberth in a five-goal thriller to march in to the quarter final of the Senior Cup.
Both teams knew going into this cup-tie that it could be close and that’s exactly how it panned out.
Declan Carroll’s 30th minute far post header, which was created by a Billy Vaughan pinpoint cross, gave the home side a one-goal lead at half time.
Tenby extended their advantage in the second period, as Billy Vaughan struck a vicious 20-yarder that flew in to the top corner.
The visitors pulled a goal back through Jordan Williams, whose strike flew in to the back of the net off the underside of the bar.
Calum Proctor unleashed a left-foot screamer to make it 3-1, but once again the visitors reduced the deficit as Justin Blewitt scored with a peach of a header.
The visitors felt they should have been awarded a late penalty when Tenby defender Perry Broadhurst made a strong tackle in the box on Jordan Williams. However, referee Dean Boswell deemed the challenge fair and waved play on.
Tenby held out for victory and now they face fellow division one rivals Goodwick United in an eagerly awaited quarter final tie.
