Two Pembrokeshire men played a pivotal role in Wales under 20’s win over Scotland on Friday night.
Simon Gardiner and Scott Williams, former players for Haverfordwest and Whitland, both started in the team’s 20-12 win at the Arms Park on Friday night.
Gardiner, who was winning his ninth cap at prop, even grabbed the game’s opening try after driving over from close range in the first half.
Williams, who proved a constant threat to the Scottish backline, also came within a whisker of providing the game’s highlight after his 55 metre solo effort was ruled out by the TMO for a toe on the touchline as he dived to score.
The pair are both contracted to the Llanelli Scarlets and will be expected to retain their place for the home game against France on Friday, February 26th, 3.30pm kick-off.
