In division three, Crymych went down 13-19 at home to Newcastle Emlyn thanks to a faultless display with the boot from Emlyn fly-half Rhydian Harries.

It was the Preseli Men who struck first when centre Steffan Phillips scored following good handling. However, two Harries penalties and a penalty try, following a collapsed scrum five metres out, helped the away side to a 7-13 interval lead.

Harries slotted two more kicks after half-time, but home fly-half Gareth Davies responded with two of his own to bring his side within six points. The Preseli Men wasted a chance to snatch the spoils late on when they wasted a scrum five metres out and Emlyn held on for a hard-fought win.

Darren Salmon and Craig Barnett both grabbed braces as Haverfordwest turned in an impressive performance to beat Morriston 33-13. Barnett cut through early on following great work from full back Matthew Davies. Salmon rounded off some good handling to score in the corner. Skipper Steve Williams landed two conversions and a penalty to help the Blues into a 17-6 half-time lead.

Adam Summerfield crossed after half-time to haul the visitors back into it, but Barnett crossed again to give the home side breathing space before Williams’ inside pass allowed Salmon to seal the bonus point.

Cardigan were made to fight all the way before winning 10-13 at lowly Llanybydder. The Teifisiders dominated the early stages and fly-half Mike Diggle landed a penalty before creating a try for winger Rhydian Jenkins.

Home scrum-half Darren Griffiths responded with a penalty but then Wayne Parsons sliced through for the away side to open up a 3-13 lead.

However, the Teifisiders switched off before half-time and home winger Ellis Davies crossed for a converted try to create a tense second half. Despite chances for both sides, there was no further scoring and Cardigan held on for a narrow win.

There was frustration for Pembrokeshire clubs in division four as Milford Haven, Pembroke and Tenby United had their trips to Amman United, Cefneithin and Hendy postponed due to adverse weather.

However, Pembroke Dock Quins did play and enjoyed a vital 17-3 win over fellow strugglers Burry Port. A powerful Quins scrum led to an early penalty try and following a similar effort by the home pack, No. 8 Gareth Scourfield picked up to crash over for a 14-0 lead. Burry Port kicker Tom Price got his side on the board after half-time but Dean Lawrence cancelled his penalty out with one of his own as the Quins eased home and moved out of the bottom two.

An under strength Llangwm had another difficult day, going down 6-25 at home to Bynea. Prop Richard Scriven kicked two first half penalties for the Wasps but away fly-half Nick Morris did the damage, crossing for a try to go with two penalties for a 6-13 lead at half-time.

It stayed that way until the dying minutes when Simon Jones and Sean Owens crossed to seal the win.

Neyland went top of the table with an expected bonus point win at Pontyates.

The All Blacks led 0-32 at half-time and crossed nine times with tries from centres Adam Collins (2) and Steve Hamer (2), Chris Busby, Matthew Williams, Mark Smith, John Tennick and Martin Roberts. Fly-half Mark Riley added two conversions for a comfortable 3-49 win.

St Davids’ run of five successive wins came to an end when they were beaten 3-25 at home to Aberaeron. Despite two sin bins in the first half, the Saints only trailed 0-5 to an Aled Sweeney try at the interval. Sweeney added an early penalty in the second half, but home fly-half Phil Lamb reduced the deficit to 3-8 in the closing stages.

However, the away side cut loose late on and winger Rhodri Severs and flanker Tudur Jenkins crossed to seal the win.

Fishguard travelled to St Clears only for the game to be called off while the Seagulls were warming up, after the referee deemed the pitch unsafe.
