Running sensation Lauren Bell has smashed the Welsh under-17s 800m indoor record by more than two seconds to claim the title.
The highly rated middle-distance runner was in form at the Welsh indoor championships, held at the National Indoor Athletics Centre in Cardiff at the weekend.
The Ysgol Bro Gwaun pupil also picked up a silver in the 200m and gold in the 300m to complete a tremendous treble.
Lauren ran from gun to tape for a fantastic new record of 2 minutes 14.11 seconds in the 800m event, backed by her coach Pete Freeman, of Pembrokeshire Harriers.
The weekend got even better for Lauren when it was confirmed she will captain the Welsh Schools Celtic Cup team for the forthcoming Celtic Indoor international to be held in Cardiff on Sunday, February 21st.
