Geoff Flood takes over from Dick Cross as captain of Haverfordwest golf club announced at the annual general meeting recently.
The section had won most of its matches, completing the double over quite a few clubs. The highlight of the year was winning the Centenary Cup, played at Ashburnum, where the home club were hot favourites to win the competition. Tenby, Cardigan, Ashburnum, Carmarthen and Haverfordwest play for the cup.
Vernon Harries became this year’s Dyfed senior champion, winning at Banc-y-Felin.
Jim Morgan and Mal Davies reached the finals of the Welsh Classic Jubilee Cup, losing narrowly in the late stages of the competition at Clyne golf club.
The most successful player in Club competitions was David Colston, winning the Senior Rosebowl and the Senior Rocker.
He also won a Club Monthly Medal.
