The third Felinfoel Brewery Double Dragon RNLI annual fishing open was held at Amroth Beach recently.

The event was organised by members of Pembroke and district angling club, Osprey sea angling club, Haven angling group and west Wales match anglers.

Only 13 out of the 71 anglers that fished, which included two ladies and eight juniors, managed to weigh in just 19 fish.

The winning angler who managed to land three smallish flounder at 1kg 75gms, was Milford Haven rod Derek ‘Del Boy’ Gregory, netting him the first prize of £250.

The biggest flounder at 785gms went to another Milford man, Max Capes, taking the pool of £71.

In a close second was Swansea angler Barry Beatrup.

In third place, by an even smaller margin, was Cardiff’s Franco Attanasio.

The most important result on the day was that the event raised just £3 shy of £800 for the Angle and Tenby lifeboats.

Thanks were expressed to Felinfoel Brewery and rep Jamie Owen for continuing to sponsor this event and Roger Harris of the Amroth Arms.
