Pennar Robins 1
Solva 1
The only game played in division one on Saturday finished in a draw.
Once again, the terrible weather caused all Senior Cup clashes and two top-flight games to be cancelled.
However, Bush Camp was deemed playable and it served up a cracking league game where a draw on the balance of play was probably the right result.
The visitors had the lion’s share of territory and goal chances and Peter Cole’s side deservedly led one-nil at the break.
Nathan Davies scored in the 25th minute, after latching onto a cross in the box and finished clinically from close-range.
The home side finally woke up after the interval and were rewarded on the hour mark, as striker Wayne Brunton equalised with a sweetly struck left-foot strike that gave goalkeeper James Griffin no chance.
The Robins could have gone on and snatched victory, but as the pitch cut up, they found it increasingly difficult to pierce the strong Solva rearguard.
“If we had taken our chances, the game would have been won in the first half,” said Solva manager Peter Cole.
Pennar Robins’ manager Chris Lloyd said: “Definitely a game of two halves, but a draw was just about right.”
