Sarah Hughes, of Hook, competed over the winter series at the Trailblazers first rounds with three of her ponies.
Gaining a double clear in different showjumping rounds allowed her to take part in the qualifying rounds at Moor Farm at the end of the winter series.
Sarah was placed in the top five of the classes and that earned her a place at the finals held at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, in August last year.
Sarah’s goal was to bring back three rosettes over the two days of competing. However, she gained a staggering total of 17 rosettes.
There were 126 finalists in the 75cms classes, and Sarah and her pony Charmaine gained overall third.
If that wasn’t enough, Sarah and her pony Tia gained overall second in the 95cms class, and in the 1.05cms class, again Sarah and her pony Tia gained overall third.
Sarah placed in three of the four classes she entered, and was one of the most successful show jumpers in the junior section from Pembrokeshire in Trailblazers finals.
Sarah owes her success to the hard work and effort that her instructor Helen Evans has provided.
