Alice Watts has been appointed Pembrokeshire College’s netball academy coach, joining an elite team of coaches to nurture the county's sporting talent.
International umpire, Alice is the current manager of the Welsh under-17 netball squad.
Kevin Hopkins, the college’s new sports academy co-ordinator said: “I am delighted to have somebody of Alice’s experience and enthusiasm joining the college to coach our netball academy players. Alice has an excellent track-record of coaching and playing netball and will be an asset to the academy.”
Alice, who was born in Gibraltar, developed a passion for netball as a school girl and has recently retired from Pembroke netball club as club coach and is an examiner for Welsh netball. For 12 years Alice was team manager of the Welsh squad’s talent centres, and currently coaches juniors, under-11 and under-16 and is a netball development officer delivering sessions at local schools in Pembrokeshire.
