Cefneithin 62.
Llangwm 3.
Llangwm found it hard going at Cefneithin as the league leaders scored 31 points in each half and restricted the Wasps to a solitary first half penalty from prop Richard Scriven.
Ian Griffiths’ Llangwm team played well at the start and for the first 15 minutes were competitive – but then they allowed Cefneithin to grab two tries in quick succession.
From there it became a matter of how well the Wasps could restrict the scoreline. Open side flanker Andrew Cudd was Cefneithin’s star with a hat trick of tries as reward for his great support play.
Full back Chris Moore was a constant thorn in the Wasps’ side as he made regular runs from deep positions and claimed two tries in a personal haul of 26 points as he converted eight of the homesters’ tries.
Other Cefneithin tries came from second row Chris Davies (2), winger Jonathan Davies, centre Paul Davies and outside half Wayne Rogers.
To be fair to the Wasps they never gave up trying but were unable to sustain any real periods of pressure against a very experienced Cefneithin pack.
This meant they paid the inevitable price with a heavy defeat.
