Swansea Uplands 0.

Fishguard and Goodwick 22.

Fishguard and Goodwick maintained their recent momentum with a cracking away win at Swansea Uplands, which brought high praise from veteran centre Huw Evans, who capped a good performance with a solo try.

Seagulls coach Huw Evans said: “The squad is working hard in training and their efforts are paying off. We looked a good side on times and although we missed out on a bonus point, we are pleased to have scored three tries while stopping the Uplands from scoring.”

Swansea Uplands battled hard throughout but Fishguard took a tenth minute lead when young scrum half Alun George landed a penalty after good work up front by Gerwyn Davies, Mark James and Dan Morris.

The Seagulls played tightly into the wind and added a try from Mark George after he received the scoring pass from Matthew Reynolds, with Alun George adding the extras with a well-judged conversion.

It was all Fishguard with the wind at their backs. Perhaps they were a little guilty of over-eagerness at times but they increased their advantage when outside half Huw Evans executed a dummy switch move and sped 30 metres for a solo try which went unconverted.

The final score went to No 8 Dan Charsley from a push-over try at a five-metre scrum. This delighted the Seagulls since the popular New Zealander is returning home this week.

Alun George’s conversion added the icing on the cake as the Seagulls celebrated a very good away win.
