Clarbeston Road 6.
Merlins Bridge 4.
Clarbeston Road came from behind right at the death to shock champions Merlins Bridge in a ten-goal thriller.
The hosts knew this would be a yardstick clash to measure just how far they have come since their second division days.
This result is one of the biggest shocks of the season. The defeat means the Wizards remain in fifth spot and Clarbie stay in fourth, opening up a three-point gap.
The Wizards have now lost twice already this season, both times against promoted teams Kilgetty and Clarbie.
Huw Bevan’s troops took a two-goal lead with barely 15 minutes on the clock thanks to Kristian Griffiths and Sion Price finding the back of Ian Kerrison’s net.
The visitors replied from the penalty spot through Peter Thomas as the scoreline read 2-1 to the hosts at the break.
Shortly after the interval and Simon Thomas squared matters scoring from a free kick just outside the area.
Immediately Clarbie got their noses in front again as striker Adam Hawkins slid home the third at the far post.
Back came the Wizards as striker Stephen McNabney equalised and co-striker Michael Canton gave the visitors the lead.
But Clarbie were not prepared to cave in as Rhys Dalling equalised with a simple back stick tap-in.
Then in the last eight minutes Richard Bevan scored twice with his head, completing one of the biggest upsets of the season so far.
