Another local Wales and Ospreys rugby star Mike Phillips has suffered a setback as he recovers from cruciate knee ligament damage.
The 26-year-old scrum-half was told to pause his rehabilitation after a scan and underwent keyhole surgery.
This decision rules him out of two rounds of the Heineken Cup, but he now also misses the EDF Cup matches with Worcester and London Irish.
That means Phillips will have played no competitive rugby before Wales begin their Autumn Test series next month.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, Mike Phillips was attacked outside a nightclub in Cardiff city centre. A spokesman for the Ospreys confirmed that Phillips had been attacked but did not suffer any lasting injuries. Police are now dealing with the incident.
