Telegraph Sport takes a look at how the rest of Saturday’s Senior Cup second round clashes ended.
Struggling Carew gave current cup holders Pennar Robins a huge scare at Bush Camp. Striker Wayne Brunton gave Pennar the lead but Sam Goodwin levelled matters, forcing this all-first division affair into extra-time.
No more goals came in that period, so it ended in a dreaded penalty shoot-out, which the Robins won 4-3, bringing a huge sigh of relief from manager Chris Lloyd and assistant Gavin Southcott.
Another top team given a mighty scare was last season’s beaten finalists Monkton Swifts who narrowly won 4-3 at Marble Hall against second division outfit Milford United.
Only a couple of weeks ago the Robins lost 2-1 in extra-time in the West Wales Intermediate Cup.
One shock was first division outfit Clarbeston Road losing 2-1 at home against second division Tenby.
The visitors took the lead through Rob Whitfield. Midway through the second period and Adam Hawkins equalised for the hosts.
However, Tom Merion struck the winner for the Seasiders 15 minutes from the full time.
James Dean (2), Steve Evans and Keiron O’Brien netted in Goodwick United’s 4-1 victory over Hundleton.
Division one outfit Neyland finished 2-2 after 90 minutes at home against second division rivals Johnston; however, the Nomads nervously progressed by scoring the winner in the extra-time period.
On target for the Nomads were Shane Phillips, Craig Power and Paul Hannon.
Division one Hakin United as expected thrashed third division St Clears 7-1. Paul Jones (4), Steve Mathias, Scott Davies and James Stanmore all netted in the Vikings’ comfortable win.
Morgan Preece (2) and Richie Adams scored for Narberth in their comfortable 3-1 home victory over second division Prendergast Villa.
Second division Pembroke Borough overcame new boys West Dragons 3-1, thanks to goals scored by James Kitts, Matthew Davies and Jamie Robinson.
The biggest win of the round came at Saundersfoot Sports who hammered Manorbier United 11-1. Danny Caine (4), James Caine (2), Russell Evans, Darren Umanee, Neilson Cole, Darryl John and Andrew Hughes all bagged goals for rampant Sports.
Ross Grey scored twice for Haverfordwest County in their hard fought 2-1 victory at Solva in an all division one affair.
St Ishmaels grabbed three first half goals by Leighton Edwards (2) and Daniel Flynn earning them a 3-1 win over division three outfit Haverfordwest Cricket Club.
Captain Tristan Mansell bagged the winner in Letterston’s 2-1 win at Camrose.
Mike Davies and Byron Woodward scored for Lamphey in their 2-1 victory at Fishguard Sports.
