Having lost to Crickhowell in the Welsh Cup, with only nine players available due to illness, Manorbier girls under-16s, took on Landore girls smarting from last week’s rare defeat.
Landore were last season’s runners-up to Manorbier in the league and so a competitive match was anticipated.
Manorbier could only field ten players with captain Molly Furnival-Doran away on international duty with Wales under-17s in Romania.
Manorbier started with a determination that shook their rivals, and within two minutes went a goal ahead from an attack that started with a move down the right wing and finished with Sam Lewtas scoring at the far post.
More was to come a few minutes later with an opportunist goal from Angharad James.
Further goals from Mari Griffiths, Hannah Lewis and an own goal from a Landore defender attempting to clear a free kick from Angharad Jenkins, meant that Manorbier were five goals up by half time.
The second half was a continuation of the first, with Manorbier passing and moving with maturity.
Coaches Carrie Slack and Gerry Rigby are on the look out for additional players to join this team and should be contacted on 01239 851256 for Gerry or 07815058276 for Carrie.
Manorbier: Ffion Ashman, Caryl Griffiths, Haley Lewis, Angharad Jenkins, Rachel Hughes, Samantha Lewtas, Hannah Lewis, Ellie Robinson, Angharad James, Mari Griffiths.
