Brunel ladies attended a training session of Pembrokeshire Special Needs Gymnastics club and were so impressed by the skill and hard work put into their training programmes that they returned to donate a £200 cheque.
This money will assist the young gymnasts in their training and boost their aspirations of becoming Special Olympic athletes.
The special needs gymnastics club is a charity run by a voluntary committee and trustees. All the coaches are volunteers, and therefore all money received is ploughed back into the club for the benefit of the gymnasts.
Fifty gymnasts, parents and coaches will attend their next competition on October 18th and 19th in Poole, Dorset.
There they will compete in trampoline and artistic competitions.
Anyone wanting to join or to find out more about the club can contact secretary Mandi Foot on 01348 873797, Yvette Bevan on 01437 731358 or Jean Jones on 01646 600623.
