Nominations are now open for Pembrokeshire's 2024 sporting achievement celebration.

The Sport Pembrokeshire Awards 2024, set to take place at Folly Farm on Friday, November 29, will honour the dedication of volunteers, coaches, and the sporting achievements of individuals and teams.

Nominations for the 13 award categories opened on Monday, September 9.

Pembrokeshire County Council cabinet member for residents’ services, Councillor Rhys Sinnett, said: "It has been fantastic to see so many nominations across all categories in recent awards.

"This just shows the sheer number of people involved in and enjoying sport in Pembrokeshire across all ages.

"The Sport Pembrokeshire Awards have always been a chance to celebrate sporting success as well as thanking those, particularly the volunteers, who are essential for grassroots sport.

"Please do get your nominations in as soon as possible."

The awards are sponsored by Valero, Pure West Radio, and Folly Farm.

The award categories are coach of the year, female sporting achievement, male sporting achievement, boys (U16) sporting achievement, girls (U16) sporting achievement, disability sport award, junior (U16) disability sport award, unsung hero, club organiser of the year, team achievement of the year, junior (U16) team achievement of the year, young volunteer of the year, club of the year, and lifetime achievement.

An additional award announced on the night is the schools award, which recognises a school that works extra hard to make sport and physical activity fun, inclusive, and innovative – and forges strong bonds with the community.
