The Pembroke County Cricket Club U13's Junior League final was contested between Cresselly and Hook.
Repeating the U11's face-off from two years ago, the final saw Cresselly Doves secure a solid 112-4 victory over Hook, who were bowled out at 44.
The final took place at Cresselly CC, in front of a supportive crowd on a sunny evening, cheering both teams intensely.
In the initial stages, Hook started on a good note with captain Charlie Holder choosing to bowl, and the team gaining impressive rates of 2-5.
Rhys Tennick kept things under control.
Indeed, the game was fairly balanced when Cresselly's Ollie Toy took the reins at 18 and held the innings together until Mason Hughes and Morgan Jones of Hook shook things up by removing Cresselly's Cody James.
However, the tide turned when Cresselly's captain Phoenix Phillips and Alfie Morgan stepped up to the crease.
They displayed classic defence skills and strong running between the wickets.
Both Phillips and Morgan retired on 25 after facing a total of 52 balls between them.
This partnership proved to be the game-changer, steering the score to 112-4 by the 20th over.
Into the second innings, Hook was aware of Cresselly's potential, particularly given the narrow one-run difference in their previous League encounter.
Hook displayed notable performances from Charlie Holder, Joe Warrender, and Mason Hughes.
However, Cresselly's bowling attack spearheaded by Cody James, Ollie Toy, and an inspired bowling spell from George Hughes swiftly neutralised Hook's strengths, resulting in a 44 all out.
The game concluded with Cresselly deserving a commendable victory.
A splendid team performance reflecting excellent coaching demonstrated that both teams have had quite the season.
Martin Jones, the junior organiser, congratulated the teams during the post-match presentation.
He praised both clubs' junior sections and recognised the coaches' hard work in crafting the talents showcased.
Richard Arthur and his team were applauded for their work to maintain the top-notch ground condition while Diane James and Ollie Arthur's BBQ service catered to the crowd's hunger pangs.
Others involved in the evening were umpires Chris Stapleton and Steve Williams, along with scorers Chris Holder and Haydon Shapcott.
The highlight of the evening was the Player of the Match award, sponsored by the Williams family in memory of the late John Williams, a well-respected umpire.
The award was fittingly handed to Phoenix Phillips, recognised for her captaincy skills and playing performance.
The award was presented by Hilary Williams, widow, with her sons Mark and Jonathan.
Lastly, a massive thank you was given to sponsor, Colin John of Llewelyn Davies & Co Chartered Accountants, for their continued and valuable support of junior cricket in the county.
