Post-match, Llechryd U13s coach, Tom Harris, who's team celebrated a tight win against Lamphey (101-1 vs 98-7), praised his team’s efforts.
Mr Harris said: "Da Iawn pawb -a successful start to the season in many ways on Wednesday with our 1st game of the season.
"We bowled and fielded well to restrict Lamphey to 96, with wickets being shared between Flo (2), Isobel, Lily, cerith and llion (sorry if I missed someone!).
"Alex then got us off to a flyer, knocking 25 off 4 overs before retiring. Flo followed on with a classy 25 before cerith rounded things off with the winning boundary.
"Celebrations were noisy on the bus home - with an eclectic mix of songs ranging from Adele to Bon jovi ! (Need to work on performance though!)
"We had 2 champagne moments to start the season - one was cerith’s one handed catch, Jonty Rhodes would have been proud (for those that remember 90’s cricket!).
"The other was Llion’s first wicket with only his 2nd ball in competitive cricket.
"Think the rest of the team were more excited about it than he was!"
In other under 13's games, Hook snatched a win over Neyland (152-5 vs 126-7), and Cresselly came out victorious against Pembroke Dock (137-3 vs 48-10).
