Monkton Swifts 5.
Merlins Bridge 1.
FOUR time champions Monkton Swifts stunned current league leaders Merlins Bridge, by handing out a five-goal drubbing.
This results means the Wizards' lead at the top has been cut to six points, and they have some really tricky games to come in the next few weeks.
The champions have lost their last two home games, but Benno Jones' troops were in no mood to make it three defeats on the trot.
The flighty Swifts were three goals ahead at the interval after former Haverfordwest County striker Ashley Prior took just 15 minutes to make an impact and score for his new club.
Six minutes later Lee Gilpin banged in the second and ten minutes before the break Tom Meirion scored directly from a corner for the third.
Lee Jones' sweetly struck half volley chalked up the fourth.
The totally stunned Wizards replied when Peter Thomas lobbed keeper Wayne Reynolds.
However, the home side completed the scoring when Meirion bagged his second of the day, clinically striking a beautiful half volley.
