St Davids 5.
Aberaeron 32.
St Davids recent run of good form came to an abrupt end as they went down to an Aberaeron side which had already beaten them 43-6 earlier in the season and have a strong sniff of promotion in their noses.
The Saints played into the wind in the first half but although there was effort aplenty from Dan Colfer, Gethin Bateman, Barry John and big Jack Dudley in the possession stakes, they were unable to stop the visitors from opening up a 17-point lead with tries by centre Wayne Jones and flanker Owain ap Dylan, both converted by fly half Dylan Evans to go with a well-struck penalty.
The Saints were hoping to fight their way back into contention with the elements in their favour but were knocked back when Aberaeron grabbed a third try through winger Rhodri Thomas.
St Davids managed to get on the scoresheet from a typically powerful lineout taken by Gethin Bateman and drive to the line which saw Bateman emerge to claim the touch-down.
But Aberaeron stayed focussed and centre Euryl Rees sliced through for a try which Dylan Evans converted to go with a second penalty that ensured his side maintained their top-three placement despite all the efforts from St Davids to the contrary.
