Alec Colley Cup quarter final: St Ishmaels 2nds (127-7) lost to Cresselly 2nds (131-2) by 8 wickets
Simon Cole played a pivotal role as Cresselly became the second side into the Alec Colley Cup semi finals by beating St Ishmaels.
Chasing 128, Cole hit 56 not out as The Doves got home with seven balls to spare, having earlier taken three wickets to help keep the Tish run rate in check.
The home side started well though as openers Kevin Bowen and Robbie Thomas went on the attack - Bowen cracking two fours and two sixes before being caught by Cole off Matthew Lewis for 26.
Thomas hit five boundaries in his 28 before he was lbw to 'Snowy', and No 3 Dan Richards made 25 before away skipper Matthew Lewis snaffled a catch off spinner Josh Lewis.
And from 73-3 Tish struggled despite No 7 Darren Hawkins scoring 14, as they finished 127-7.
For Cresselly, Cole took 2-23, Matthew Lewis 1-32, Josh Lewis 2-29, and Morgan Lewis 1-39.
Cresselly started the chase steadily before Mike Venables (17) was bowled by Bowen (1-31), and Neal Williams made 35 before being clean bowled by Lenny Rees (1-44).
But No 3 Cole hit 10 fours to finish 56 not out, with Scott Arthur unbeaten on 18 as The Doves secured their place in the semi finals.
