SWCA (91 all out) lost to Pembroke County Cricket Club (224-7) by 127 runs
There was a superb all round display from the Pembroke County Cricket Club team in Llandysul yesterday as they hammered a South Wales Cricket Association XI by 127 runs.
The visitors made 224-7 in 40 overs as a number of batsmen made contributions, and then dismissed the hosts for just 91.
Everyone in the top five for the county got vital runs with Nick Koomen making 36 (six fours), Patrick Bellerby 64 (eight fours and a six), Jo Kiff 27 (three fours and a six), Toby Hayman 25 (a four and a six) and Jonathan Thomas 23 not out.
There was also 25 from No 8 Tom Davies (two fours and a six) while Ross Hardy (7), Brad McDermott-Jenkins (8) and Henry Durrant (2 not out) all helped push the total up.
In the SWCA line up was former Whitland skipper Iestyn Scourfield, who took 0-18 in five overs, while wickets fell to Jac Swift (4-60), Tom Clarke (2-29), and Yakoob Ali (1-44).
The hosts didn't get close in their reply though as they were shot out in 31 overs.
In fact it was No 10 Jonathan Cheal who showed the most resistance with five fours in his 23, after Bleddyn Morgan (12), John Scourfield (18) and Julian Griffiths (14) had all failed to build on starts.
But wickets fell regularly as Pembrokeshire used seven bowlers, with Durrant finishing 1-12 in six overs, Tom Davies 3-18 (7), Andrew Pawlett 1-9 (8), McDermott-Jenkins 0-14 (3), Ceri Brace 2-24 (5), Hardy 1-4 (3), and Thomas 1-8 (2).
The County's next scheduled game is Tuesday, July 16th against Glamorgan 2nds at Whitland.
