There were celebrations at the Yard Boxing Club in Letterston on Tuesday to mark the achievements of Ffion Wilmott after she became a British Schools' champion.
And remarkably, she did so in only her fourth bout after a super display in the Three Nations final against England's Kayla Holdsworth.
Representing Wales in the 42kg class, 13-year-old Wilmott had a walkover in her semi final when her opponent failed to make the weight - then outclassed the experienced Holdsworth to take a unanimous points decision.
"She was absolutely brilliant," said coach Ken Owen.
"After only four fights she is beating the cream of the crop."
Owen was ring-side at the Barnsley Metrodome, and trains Ffion three nights a week at the Yard along with Rowland George and Nigel Wilmott.
She took the Gold medal back to her training base on Tuessday where she was congratulated by fellow members, and there was a banner put up in the gym to mark her win.
Another youngster in Mikey O'Sullivan, of Cardigan ABC, took a bronze medal home from the Championships. He lives close to Wilmott and the pair regularly spar together.
"It's just amazing for two youngsters in the same area of Goodwick have achieved this," added Owen.
"It's quite a feat for the town."
