Discus thrower James Tomlinson has set a new benchmark for himself after notching a personal best in Germany.
Just weeks after captaining the GB Juniors team in an international in Loughborough, Tomlinson threw 60.24 metres to finish second in the Under 20s category at the Halle Throws International.
“Getting a new PB is the best feeling you can get in athletics,” he told Telegraph Sport.
"I threw 63.48 metres with the under 18 weight and to go over 60 metres again with the heavier under 20 implement shows I’m right on target.
"It’s still early season so I’m not finished yet, in fact I have much higher hopes and plans. Results speak for themselves so I hope to be sitting here in a few months time with another British record under my belt and an even bigger smile."
