LLOYD Hughes made an impressive international debut for Wales Academy Under 18s on Monday night.
The left-sided midfielder from Carew was comfortable in possession at the Conygar Bridge Meadow, Haverfordwest, in the first of two friendly matches against the Republic of Ireland.
Wales lost 0-1; Gareth Doherty scored the only goal of the game from the spot for the Irish in the 72nd minute.
Joanna Price and Angharad James named in Jayne Ludlow’s 22-woman Welsh squad to travel to Croatia next month the Istria Cup Tournament.
Wales have been drawn in a group with France B, Costa Rica and Bosnia and Herzegovina for the tournament - which takes place from March 3-11.
