Senior Cup Round Three
Prendergast Villa 0
Goodwick United 4
ROB Morgans and Lewis Banks grabbed two-goals apiece to secure a semi-final place at the expense of Division Two Prendergast Villa.
The Division One outfit eased their nerves by opening the scoring early through Morgans who struck a low edge of the box volley in the bottom corner. On the half hour mark Banks rose highest in the box to score with a powerful header to double his side’s lead.
Five minutes after the break and Morgans headed home Jonny Horgan’s corner for Goodwick’s third goal, late in the tie Banks latched onto a long thro in the box by Steffan Hayes to complete the scoring.
Nigel Delaney’s Goodwick United troops were good value for their win against a tricky Villa outfit, and will now look forward to a semi-final date on the Bridge Meadow.
