Monkton Swifts 4
JAMES Stanmore scored four goals in Hakin United’s exciting 4-5 victory at Monkton Swifts that kept their unbeaten record intact.
The champions are just a point behind table toppers Narberth, but the Vikings do have two games in hand over the Bluebirds, and this was a clash that Vikings’ manager Gary Dawes will be delighted that his team grabbed the crucial points.
The Swifts led two-nothing in the opening 20 minutes. Striker Wayne Brunton turned and shot inside the box in the bottom corner, Ben Nicholas struck a delightful chip for the second.
Ten minutes before the break and Jonathan Bennett pulled one back for the Vikings and Stanmore lashed home an equaliser that made it two-all at half time.
Stanmore gave the Vikings the lead with a stunning volley, Brunton raced clear and equalised before Stanmore added a fourth and fifth, with Adam Davies and Ashley Bevan heavily involved.
Virtually on full time Vikings’ defender Damien Ellis brought down Marcus Blair inside the box, and Daniel Scourfield made no mistake with the resulting penalty.
