WELL-known Wales’s ladies’ international footballer Angharad James, of Llandissilio, has been named in UEFA ‘Team of the Tournament’ squad from the Wales Under-19 Finals that were held in South West Wales last summer.
James was the only Wales player to be named in the squad that was chosen by members of the UEFA Technical Studies group that oversaw all the matches during August 2013.
She featured for Wales in one of the tournament group games that was staged on the Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium.
The squad of 22 also features five players from eventual winners, France, seven from England, four from Finland, three from Germany and one from both Norway and Sweden.
Midfielder James is also a member of the senior women's squad that is now taking part in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, having won 22 caps so far, since making her debut as a 17-year-old in the 2011-12 season. She also has ten Under-17 caps and 25 Under-19 caps.
The FAW congratulated her on the well-deserved honour.
