Wales YFC chairman Tim John is up for a challenge.
Each of the 12 YFC county Federations in Wales has been asked to set Brawdy YFC’s Tim John, who was elected as chairman of the organisation in September last year, with a challenge which he will complete along with other members from the county.
‘Challenge Tim’ has been set up to raise money and awareness of his charity of the year, Kidney Wales Foundation.
It has become custom for Wales YFC’s chairman to designate a good cause to support throughout the year and, following Tim’s election as chairman, he asked his fellow members to support foundation, explaining the charity had been of great help to him and his family recently.
Tim (pictured at the start of his latest challenge) said: “By challenging every county to set me and others within their county a challenge to undertake, I hope to get a large number of people involved in raising money and awareness of the charity.”
Tim, a farmer from Lambston, Haverfordwest, is currently taking part in a challenge set by the Carmarthenshire Federation.
He, and five members from the county, have been challenged to not shave or cut their hair until the Wales YFC Field Day on April 10th.
The Field Day, at Llandovery Market, will be hosted by the Carmarthen-shire Federation.
Before the award ceremony Tim and the participants will shave off their beards and cut their hair.
Anyone wishing to contribute can contact the Wales YFC office or visit www.everydayhero.co.uk/ challenge_tim.
