The Pembrokeshire Advisory Committee to the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society is seeking candidates for two once in a lifetime awards to be presented at this year’s Royal Welsh Show.
The two awards are: The Sir Bryner Jones Memorial Award, this year for the veterinary surgeon who has made an outstanding contribution to Welsh agriculture; and the Dr Emrys Evans Award for candidates under 35 on July 19th 2010, who live and work in Wales and have contributed in an exceptional way to rural skills. The theme of this award is shepherding skills and the judges will be assessing the nominee’s skills in animal husbandry; veterinary record keeping; shearing ability; working with sheepdogs; preparing sheep for market or shows.
Applicants for either award should contact the county secretary, Geraint James, Tredryssi Fawr, Nevern, Newport, Pembrokeshire, SA42 0NJ, by Monday, February 22nd.
