J. J. Morris reports: A reasonable entry in all sections. The trade on store cattle and weaned calves was easier, barren cows again sold well and lambs were on par with national trends. There were a few more cull ewes and calves were again in great demand.

J. J. Morris reports: A smaller entry of lambs (566) sold to an average of 104.79p/kg, with a top price of 119p from Windsor and son, Fforest Farm, Whitland.
Lambs sold to a top price of £52.60 from Thomas, Llainlas, Meidrim and non-approved lambs sold to £31.50.
Cull ewes and rams (401): An improved entry sold to a moderate trade. Ewes sold to a top price of £46 from Price, Bill Farm, Wolfscastle and rams sold to £36 from Jones, Llwynpiod, St Clears.
Overage cattle and barren cows: A moderate entry, with barren cows selling to an average price of 61.23p/kg while overage heifers averaged 102.97p. Barren cows sold to a top price of 105p/kg from Evans, Pencraig Farm, Blaenwaun, which was the top price per head of £695.
Overage heifers sold to 112p/kg from Harris and son, Ffosddu Fach, Whitland, which equated to the top price per head of £645.
Fat cattle: A small entry with steers selling to an average price of 125.02p/kg and a top price of 133.50p/kg from Rees, Avola Farm, Red Roses, which equated to the top price per head of £901.
Calves: A small entry with bull calves selling to a top price of £160 for a Limousin from Evans, Waterholmes Farm, Llawhaden. Heifer calves sold to £145 from Jones, New House Farm, Lampeter Velfrey.

October 22nd
BJP REPORTs: As well as the usual dairy cattle, a dispersal sale of 49 quality milking cows from Mr and Mrs Harries, Clun sold to an overall average of £1,010.
Dairy cattle (98): Cows (47) averahe £1,018, maximum £2,020, Iscoed Farm, Iscoed Uchaf; heifers (32) average £1,330, maximum £2,000, Jones, Llwycoed Isaf Farm; recorded cows (5) average £1,342, maximum £1,900, Davies, Parcnewydd; recorded heifers (12) average £1,628, maximum £2,000, Jones, Blaencwmerwydd; bulling heifers (2) average £440, maximum £520, Hodson, Cefngranod.
Calves (454) overall average £149.60.

J. J. Morris reports: Another large entry of sheep (2,186) with a brisk trade on store lambs but breeding ewes were slightly easier and culls saw a much slower trade.
