Cull cows and bulls: An excellent entry forward resulted in a good trade, selling to an average of 80p/kg and a top price of 122p from Williams and son, Llwynbychan, St Clears.

Top prices per head: £890, £860, £845, Phillips Bros, Cilhernin, Login; £885, Williams and son, Llwynbychan, St Clears.

Bulls sold to £770 from Jones, Plas Uchaf, Llanarthne.

Overage cattle: Overage heifers sold to a top price of 130p/kg and an average of 101p, while steers sold to 118p and averaged 108p. Top price per kilo was 130p from Williams and son, Cilowen, Login. Top prices per head: £815, Bussell, St Kennox Farm, Llawhaden; £640, Phillips Bros, Cilhernin, Login.

Heifers sold to £735 from Phillips Bros, Cilhernin, Login. Fat cattle: An excellent trade resulted in a top price per kilo of 155.50p for a 565kilo Limousin from Fairclough, Frowen, Login. Heifers averaged 125.76p and steers averaged 139.03p.

BJP reports: A seasonal entry of store cattle (193) with strong cattle selling well. Top price of £1,025 for a 710kg Hereford steer, aged 22 months, from Goodridge, Slade Farm, Haverfordwest.

Top price for heifers was £708 for 17 month old Charolais from Phillips, Pontfaen.

Cull cows (39): A better entry of cows sold to a firmer trade. Best price of £715 for a Friesian cow from Childs, Disgwylfa, Letterston. Others to £700, £680, £675, £650.

Maximum price per kilo 103p, average price per kilo 86p.

Calves (72): A good entry of calves, but with few quality animals. Best price was £225 for Limousin bulls sold by Johns, Pencnwc. A Charolais heifer sold for £218 from Davies, Lower Scoveston.

Dai Lewis Auctioneers reports: Another good entry in all sections (346). Barren cows saw a slightly easier run, but weaned calves and store cattle sold to a brisk trade.

Cull ewes and rams (386): An improved entry with the greatest demand again for heavier type ewes which sold to an average of £36.20. Lighter types averaged £18.79.

A larger entry of rams sold to a top price of £49 from Evans, Coedhirion, Llanddarog.

Wethers sold to £30 from Summons, Hayston Farm, Johnston. Overage cattle and barren cows (33): An improved entry with an average price per kilo of 76.98p.

Barren cows sold to a top price per kilo of 128p from Harris and son, Ffosddu Fach, Whitland, which turned out to be the top price per head of £755. Other leading prices: £690, Murrow, Brownslade Farm, Tavernspite; £680, Wilson, Coldwell, Red Roses.

Bulls sold to a top price of £645 from Morris, Bowett Farm, Hundleton and overage steers sold to £995 from Wilson, Coldwell, Red Roses.

Fat cattle: A small entry resulted in a steady trade. Heifers sold to an average of 125.35p per kilo while steers averaged 135.96p. Top price per kilo was 138.50p from Reynolds, Pentroydin, Llanddewi Velfrey. Top prices per head: £1,057, Lewis and son, Ambridge, Green Plains; £921, Reynolds, Pentroydin, Llanddewi Velfrey.
