Fans have been left "delighted" after Only Connect presenter Victoria Coren Mitchell announced the birth of her second child with husband David Mitchell in a humorous post online.

The broadcaster, who has been a guest on a number of other shows like Have I Got News For You, married the Peep Show star in 2012.

The pair have now revealed their second child together after a 'secret' pregnancy.

Victoria Coren Mitchell took to Instagram to share the news in a lighthearted post showing her wearing a red cloak for Halloween.

She said: "Many people are assuming this was a Halloween costume. Not at all; last week I had a baby and nothing currently fits me except cloaks. Luckily, Only Connect is a pre-record. Happy All Saints Day!"

Fans of the Only Connect presenter and Peep Show's David Mitchell were quick to share their well wishes with the couple.

One poster commented: "Just saw your news! Awesome, so happy for you all," while another added: "Congratulations on the birth of your little baby girl David and Victoria."

One fan simply added: "Congratulations".

Others cracked a few jokes with one writing: "Congratulations! I really wanted you to replace Hooly on this morning. I guess not."

Another added: "Many many Congratulations Victoria. Does David know?"

Peep Show fan podcast Secrets of the Pharaohs took to Twitter to congratulate David on the news, writing: "A huge congratulations to @RealDMitchell and @VictoriaCoren on the birth of their second child," to which he replied: "Thank you! We're very happy."
