FAMILIES fired up their frying pans to take part in The Great St Davids Pancake Race on Shrove Tuesday.
Starting off from outside the St David’s Cathedral bell tower, competitors had to run up the hill towards The Bishops as fast as they could while ensuring their pancake stayed firmly inside the pan.
The annual event is organised by the St Davids Penknife Club, which is all about friendship, fun and fundraising.
Les James from the club said: “It was a really fun event; we had about 60 children taking part. They ran in age groups from under fives right up to adults.
"Everyone got a prize, no matter if they came first or last."
Les added: “We would like to thank Marike Price for making the 80 odd pancakes for the race.”
