A PUPIL from Ysgol Solfach has been making a big splash in the world of swimming.
Rhiannon Clapham from Year 4 represented the school at the Urdd Gala held in Haverfordwest Leisure Centre just before Christmas, where she stormed home to claim first place in her backstroke race.
This achievement meant Rhiannon went on to represent Pembrokeshire at the Urdd National Swimming Gala at the International Swimming Pool in Cardiff on January 24.
She came fifth in her heat which meant she qualified for the final. Rhiannon lined up against 10 other talented swimmers from across Wales and came second, an incredible achievement for the youngster.
Joanna Jones from Ysgol Solfach said: “Very well done to Rhiannon, da iawn!”
