AN EVENT is taking place in Pembrokeshire tonight (Wednesday) to help sheep producers during the lambing season.
Farming Connect has been hosting a series of events offering essential information and developing knowledge on care of the ewe and lamb at lambing to reduce losses and production costs.
Pre-lambing management will also be discussed, including nutritional requirements of ewes mid to late pregnancy to ensure they are fed accordingly to their needs for optimum health and welfare, the importance of condition scoring ewes and the issues associated with under and over conditioned ewes, understanding the quality of forage and the need for supplementary feeding.
At the event tonight, (Wednesday, January 27th) at the Nantyffin Hotel, Llandissilio John Vipond will focus on feeding ewes in late pregnancy. The meeting takes place from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and the facilitator is Jamie McCoy, who can be contacted on 07887 771224.
