I refer to your article in the Western Telegraph of the 25th April concerning the demise of Pembroke Main Shopping Street. In Pembroke we have one of the most amazing visitor attractions in Wales , the Castle . Yet when you look at some of the properties adjacent to the Castle they look in the same condition as they were when Oliver Cromwell left the area. If Pembroke was a small town in France with this tremendous asset in the town you would have banners everywhere , tubs full of flowers and all the houses and shops painted in bright colours to attract visitors and hopefully new businesses to the area. Instead of our councillors suggesting the pavements be power washed may I suggest that they arrange a trip to Narberth and ask the Chamber of Trade how they managed to change Narberth into one of the most vibrant small towns in Wales.
