Low Impact Planning In response to a letter by F Schmidt reporting on a proposed low impact development Nr. Trefin: 1. The title low impact is relative. To suggest that 4 buildings on open fields within the National Park can be low impact is clearly wrong.
2. The proposed development is only sustainable through the use of grants and flouting Policy 47 and TAN 6 planning guidelines.
3. The described resubmission of NP11/398 has minimal amendment to the original application which was rejected unanimously by the National Park earlier this year.
4. At the meeting Mr O’Kane’s statement that the National Park planners were mistaken and unable to assess his application correctly was disingenuous.
5. Mr O’Kane asserted that this is an affordable housing development. We question this is a good example of low cost housing development, but instead will provide a flagship example of how planning restrictions can be circumvented.
6. A flyer was handed out which stated "It is also important to us to know that there is a desire for this project, as without a certain level of community support, we would not wish to take our ideas forward here." Over 200 people, mostly local residents, and both Llanrhian and Mathry local community councils have written to The National Park objecting to NP11/398.
We submit that the landscape and natural beauty of the Pembrokeshire National Park should be preserved for both this and future generations.
