A Milford Haven woman, who was found with cannabis in her bra, appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, April 10th.
Jolene Elizabeth Rees, aged 26, of York Close, admitted possessing one gram of cannabis resin on March 19th.
Prosecutor Ellie Morgan said that the drug was discovered in Rees’ bra after she “found herself in the custody suite of Haverfordwest police station”
for breach of the peace.
She said that the £10 lump of the drug was found during a standard police search.
James Subbiani, defending, said: “Miss Rees had enough for one cannabis cigarette.
“Hopefully this process will remind her that cannabis remains an illegal drug, and that possession of it is an offence.”
Passing sentence, the presiding magistrate said: “No matter how much cannabis there is, it is still illegal to possess it. And until the law is changed, this court will continue dealing with it.”
Rees was given a nine-month conditional discharge by magistrates, who also ordered the destruction of the drug.
