RAF rescue helicopter 169 , both St Davids lifeboats and the city’s coastguard team were tasked to the aid of a group of seven kayakers in difficulty off St David’s Head this afternoon (Thursday).
The local kayaking club had got caught in rapids and split into two groups Three kayakers had ended up at Porth Melgan and the other four were on the north side of St David’s Head.
They were all located safe and well by St Davids all weather lifeboat. All seven kayakers were taken on board the lifeboat and dropped off in safe water just off Whitesands beach. They then made their own way to shore, where they were met by St Davids coastguards.
