The Pembrokeshire launch of the Pegasus Project is taking place in Johnston today (Monday).

This exciting Dyfed Powys Police initiative aims to make communication with the police much easier for vulnerable adults, and adults with learning disabilities.

"The Dyfed Powys Pegasus Project is the first of its kind in Wales,” explained project co-ordinator Pamela Evans.

“People can sign up and choose a password which means, when they speak to the police, their particular needs will be immediately flagged up, and the whole process should be much easier and less stressful.”

Pembrokeshire People First (PPF) is hosting the launch. The charity said it is delighted to be involved, as many adults with learning disabilities find talking to the police really worrying.

The event is taking place at the Johnston Institute from 2-4pm, where all will be explained, and forms available for people to sign up.
