Milford Haven Port Authority has reaffirmed its commitment to substantial improvement work to the marina following the announcement that the managing director of Pembrokeshire Marine Group is to leave his post.
Nathan Hewitt will be leaving at the end of the month to pursue a new career in the anti-pollution industry, but, despite the upcoming changes in marina management, planned improvement works will still press ahead.
Port Authority short sea director Kevin Hobbs said that Mr Hewitt would be greatly missed, and added the authority would remain focused on raising service levels and facility standards at the marina.
Mr Hobbs said: “While Nathan’s departure will be a great loss, we are fully committed to the current programme of work he initiated including improvements to decking and electrics, and preparation for a new dry stack facility.”
He added that the change in management at the marina would also provide an opportunity to review the progress made to date.
“We also intend to continue using the name Pembrokeshire Marine Group and its branding for marketing purposes,” he added.
Pembrokeshire Marine Group was established in 2010 to raise the profile and increase the level of service provision for boat owners at Milford Marina through joint marketing and investment initiatives between Milford Haven Port and The Cardiff Marine Group.
