One of the companies hired to distribute Hywel Dda Health Board’s ‘Your health your future’ leaflet and DVD has entered into administration, creating uncertainty over how many households have received them.

Link Direct Ltd was employed to organise the distribution across the area including through Royal Mail and an independent leaflet distribution company.

The Health Board says it has received assurances that 81,000 leaflets in mainly rural areas have been delivered and, before it ceased trading, the company also confirmed around 50,000 leaflets were on course to be delivered in more urban areas.

It is estimated to have cost just over £30,000 to produce the DVDs which began to be sent to an estimated 158,636 properties across the three counties at the end of January; 52,600 in Pembrokeshire, 72,000 in Carmarthenshire and 34,036 in Ceredigion.

The Health Board is now attempting to ensure the leaflet and DVD are made available in town centre locations, through use of hospitals and other healthcare sites such as GP surgeries, health centres and community locations.

Director of Corporate Services, Chris Wright, said: “It is hugely disappointing that this company has entered into administration.

While out of our control, we are in the process of contacting the administrators to confirm they will return our stock or pay compensation.

“This is one part of our listening and engagement exercise, and there are many other sources of information and means of engaging with the Health Board. We would urge members of the public to get involved with our Meet the Health Board events, or visit our online resource.”

There will be a ‘Meet the Health Board’ event at the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot, from 2pm to 8pm on April 26th.

Anyone who wishes to receive the leaflet and DVD should write to Freepost Hywel Dda Health Board, or visit www.hywelddahb.
